Product Information
Many marine hydraulic steering systems adopted an aviation standard for their hydraulic fluid (MIL-H-5606G), which since 1996 is considered inactive for new equipment design. It does live on in the marine market, however. Lucas Nautical Hydraulic Oil has an ISO viscosity grade of 15 (15 cSt @400 C), formulated exclusively from synthetic base stocks containing anti-wear and corrosion inhibitors. It will satisfy all the relevant requirements of MIL-H-5606G, providing excellent performance throughout all weather conditions. It does not contain conventional viscosity modifiers; therefore, it will not permanently shear-thin and can be expected to deliver long life performance in marine steering systems. Being so low in viscosity, it provides a very light feel to steering, without hesitation or noise. Lucas Nautical Hydraulic Fluid is also suitable for other marine applications, such as in emergency hydraulic starting systems (hand pump with accumulator) employed in some diesel-powered boats.
Features
- Premium Anti-Wear Protection
- Corrosion Protection
- Resists Oxidation
- Synthetic Base Oil
- Low Viscosity Provides for a Light Feel in Steering
